A Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is a community-based organization responsible for planning and preparing for hazardous material emergencies at the local level.

LEPCs serve as the bridge between industry, responders, and the public, ensuring that if a hazardous materials incident occurs, the response is organized, informed, and effective. They also help reduce risk before an incident ever happens by improving communication and preparedness.

STORM SHELTER REBATE PROGRAM

The SoonerSafe Rebate Program is a state-funded initiative designed to help Oklahoma homeowners pay for the installation of FEMA-compliant safe rooms. It operates as a lottery, offering up to $3,000 for 75% of costs, though it is not active in 2026 due to a lack of new federal funding. It is intended for residential storm protection against tornadoes.
